1. Are the sculptures fragile?
Each figure is sculpted over a wire armature and cured to a very hard, durable finished piece, unique to the clay I use.
2. How long will it take to receive my custom figure?
Usually 3-4 weeks.
3. What ages apply to the projects in the book?
There are projects in the book covering varying levels of difficulty. I've worked with ages ranging from 8 years to seniors.
4. Are these figures fired in a kiln?
No, I sold my kiln a few years ago to work in this polymer clay which I can cure in my kitchen. It also allows me more freedom with poses.
5. Is it difficult working small?
I love things in miniature, first of all. Some people do needle point or detailed paintings. To me, creating a figure that I can hold in the palm of my hand is very satisfying.
6. What are typical custom requests?
I've done sports, cheerleaders, professionals, teachers, firemen, policemen, musicians, ballet dancers, horse people and children in every form!
7. Can you copy my child's team uniform?
Yes, either with a clear description or a photo.
8. How do we start?
Begin on my Email Me contact page. I'll get back to you. Then, along with the details, I'll request a $25 deposit that you can pay with check or credit card.
